Wear loose-fitting clothing that doesn't bind at the waist, thighs or lower legs. Choose non-restrictive footwear too: slip-ons are a better bet than tight boots! |

Changes in cabin pressure during take-off and landing may cause your ears to block up (particularly if you have a cold). Three simple remedies: yawn; chew gum; drink a glass of water. |

The higher you go, the dryer the air. Your body can lose almost a liter more water per day on a plane than on the ground. So be sure to drink at least one glass of non-sparkling water or fruit juice for each hour you're in flight. Avoid drinking too much alcohol: it dehydrates and accentuates jet lag. |
| |
| |

Moisturize, by all means! Bring along skin cream or mineral water spray for your face; lip balm; and eye drops to relieve dryness. If you wear contact lenses, consider removing them in flight, to reduce any risk of eye irritation. |

Eat light! While on board, and for the first few days after arrival. Vegetables and fresh fruit will help boost your hydration level while in flight. On the ground, keep in mind that light protein-based meals will help you stay alert (think grilled meat or fish), while carbohydrates and starch (pasta, rice, pancakes) may encourage sleep. |

Long, deep breaths actually improve your circulation, a priority for long-haul travelers. In addition, SkyTeam's non-smoking flights make breathing easier for all passengers. |

Practice the exercises illustrated at left - discreet and effective, they'll improve your mood as well as your circulation! Look for more relaxation and exercise tips on select international SkyTeam flights.

Try this: if your trip lasts more than two days, set your watch to the time of your destination as soon as you board your flight, and adjust your activities to the local time zone. If your stay is under two days, keep your watch on home time. |
